London Fashion Week: Trend Spotting

Hi everyone,

I have slightly neglected my blog lately due to university work and just having some chill out time to myself, however I am back with lots to talk about! Well, last week 19th February I attended a trip organised by my university to London Fashion Week, - although I had no chance of getting any tickets to any shows or any designer showrooms it was a great opportunity for me to grab some trend spotting images as part of my final major project. As an aspiring fashion buyer keeping a firm eye on new emerging trends is very important, so my short time at fashion week was valuable as I was able to see what both the females and males were wearing and most importantly HOW they’re wearing. I took around 40 photos on the day, but I am only going to post my favourite outfits of the day, however I will post a full trend analysis on my findings!

Product Review: Kera Care

Hi again!

I forgot to mention I have had my hair cut! I've noticed that each time I go to the hair dressers my hair gets shorter at shorter lol. I have gone for a pixie cut this time much shorter than it was previously, - even though it is freezing cold at the moment it is refreshing having less hair. I also go to RUSH Hair in Southampton as I believe they do such a good job there, I have been with a range of different hair dressers and all of them are amazing. I never see anyone do any product reviews for black afro Caribbean hair so I thought I'd do one! I have been using Kera Care on my hair for years now on and off, all depending on when I can afford it (the student life lol!). I bought my products from HQ Hair www.hqhair.com  they are excellent so much cheaper than other shops and websites.

Final Major Project: Missguided Magazine (Sports Luxe)

Hi!

I haven't posted anything in a while, after the stress of my dissertation I had a few weeks to just chill and do nothing! I have now started my final major project unit which is so daunting as I'm near to the end of my degree! For my FMP I will be creating a magazine for the brand Missguided, I'm not working with the brand for this project (I wish I was!) I will be however creating a magazine which would be for them if they produced one! I have a lot of exciting things planned, with a trip to London Fashion Week trend spotting and I'm also planning the first shoot for next week! For my first shoot I'm going to be focusing on the trend of Sports Luxe, it has resurfaced on the fashion radar season after season, with this S/S 14 being no exception. Like my previous dissertation shoot I will be doing the styling and my friend James Robinson will be doing the photography. I have put together two mood boards: an inspiration moodboard and also a moodboard with the outfits I have put together, I haven't included any jewellery as of yet as I'll be doing that once the clothing has arrived!
